As a fire officer, do you find yourself  making administrative decisions without justification or cause?  Are you making split decisions by the seat of your pants?  The fire officer III course will enable the middle to upper fire officer to quantify and qualify his/her decision making process.  This course will allow the fire officer to save their department and citizens thousands of dollars by implementing the correct course of action through a systematic reasoning process.  The course objectives and job performance requirements comply with the NFPA 1021 Standard for Fire Officer Professional Qualifications, 2003e.  A state written test will be given at the end of the course.  During the state test it is possible that test questions will be pulled from the Fire Officer II test bank.  It is the students responsibility to be knowledgeable in the prerequisite (s) subject.

Prerequisites:  Certified Fire Officer II & Instructor II/III -You must meet the prerequisites to attend this course.  No refunds will be given.  IDHS will no longer hold certificates until you obtain the prerequisite. If you have any questions contact IDHS at 800-666-7784.
