FF-05: New Fuels - New Foams - New Operational Guidelines  6 Hours   $45.00

This interactive class will provide a complete overview of firefighting challenges and operations associated with ethanol and blended fuel spills and fires. Do you have an adequate foam concentrate supply?  Are you limited in your application rate?  Have you ever practiced low and medium expansion applications in an actual fireground scenario?  If you would like to learn more and do more with foam, this class is a must.  Blending classroom presentations and live fire demonstrations with actual hands-on foam applications, this class will give you the opportunity to learn about foam eductors, how a Compressed Air Foam system works, and the differences between Class A and AFFF-AR foam concentrates.  With ethanol and blended fuels now part of our daily rural and suburban environment, fire departments throughout northwest Indiana have an ever increasing potential for a catastrophic event.  Learn how you can prepare.

This class is a mix of PowerPoint, video, and classroom demonstrations during the morning, as well as an afternoon of outside hands-on foam applications.  A workbook and training tools will be provided, and full protective clothing will be required for the outside evolutions.  This program will take place at TFT’s new training facility – 3701 Innovation Way, Valparaiso, IN.
