RS-02  Technical Rescue Awareness  12 Hours   $80.00

This course provides a basic education and awareness of size up, hazard identification, scene safety, isolation, and non-entry technical rescue operations, and will address the concerns and liabilities that face rescuers while covering the awareness level objectives of NFPA 1006 and NFPA 1670 for the seven (7) technical rescue disciplines currently being recognized by the State of Indiana: Rope Rescue, Confined Space Rescue, Vehicle/Machinery Rescue, Swift Water Rescue, Trench Rescue, Structural Collapse Rescue, and Wilderness Rescue.

Pre-requisites:  State Certified HazMat Awareness You must meet the prerequisites to attend this course.  No refunds will be given.  IDHS will no longer hold certificates until you obtain the prerequisite. If you have any questions contact IDHS at 800-666-7784.

Instructor: Joe Squier

Joe began his fire service career as a volunteer firefighter 16 years ago, where he served as Assistant Chief and Training Officer. He spent eight years with the Indiana State Police. He entered the career fire service with the New Albany Fire Department in 2007. He quickly rose to the rank of Battalion Chief, commanding the Training Bureau and serving as a Safety Officer for the Department. Joe is currently certified as a Fire Instructor II/III along with numerous other State certifications, and is certified in several technical rescue disciplines.
