ST-06 Firefighting and the Role of the Chaplain 6 Hours $35.00 The emotional and spiritual support provided by the fire department chaplain can make a critical difference in the well-being of Emergency Services personnel. This class will explore various aspects of how the chaplain can assist fire departments with emergency services self-care, and overview of CISD, helping co-workers recover from significant losses, line of duty deaths, death notifications and the role of a comfort dog in chaplaincy work. This class is non-denominational and is intended for all fire and EMS audiences. Instructor: Tim Engel Tim is the pastor of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Portage and has served as the Portage Fire Department Chaplain since 2001. He is certified in CISD and serves on the Porter County CISM Team and is Team Coordinator of the Indiana District--Critical Incident Response Team (IN-CIRT) a faith based CISM team.
