The Indiana Fire Instructors Association, Inc. was established in 1948 at Purdue University by an ad hoc group of fire department training officers and instructors. It was originally the Indiana Certified Fire Instructors Association. The IFIA is a non-profit corporation under Indiana statutes and accepts membership from anyone actively engaged in instruction related to Fire Prevention, Fire Protection, Fire Safety and Public Fire Safety Education. This involves career, industrial, and volunteer firefighters and educators. The IFIA has three geographic regions; roughly north, central, and south by telephone area codes with quarterly meetings for members of the organization. The IFIA since 1999 has been instructing IFSAC accredited classes for the Department of Defense. The IFIA currently has five DOD hubs, which are at Vance A.F.B. in Oklahoma, Hill A.F.B. in Utah, Bangor Air National Guard in Maine, Grissom Air Reserve Base and NSA Crane in Indiana. Our team of qualified instructors and evaluators will travel to your location for your training needs. There may be some restrictions in your area, please call for details.
Mission of the IFIA IV. To encourage high professional standards in teaching emergency services instruction and to continually strive to eliminate all factors which interfere with the administration of well-founded training programs within the emergency services.
